Redi-Rock Case Studies – Haydon Bridge
Redi-Rock chosen by the Environment Agency
The Solution
This £400,000 scheme was developed by the Environment agency to protect the Village of Haydon Bridge in the North East, The scheme was designed after 23 homes were flooded and a further 150 homes narrowly missed the same fate.
The 380 metre wall is being constructed from Redi-Rock because “the blocks can be laid
more quickly, so save money, and speed up the building process.” said David Huntingdon from the Environments Agency flood management team. There were many proposals put forward to the local residents but they choose Redi-Rock for its natural stone appearance.
